Pag ibig

ang pananampalataya, ang pagasa, at ang pagibig;

nguni't ang pinakadakila sa mga ito ay ang pagibig.

And we will continue to show love. even if we are under-appreciated due to religious persecution from detractors.

As Bro. Eli have said,

My dream is to find friends; the lost souls; to meet the less fortunate; the hungry; the underfed; the forgotten; and all those rejected by human society: to share with them the hope that is in me; and to be a humble instrument of my Great God, to announce that there is something beautiful and wonderful in store for them who were neglected by this present world! (Luke14:13-14)

“But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.”

Amen.

The Chinese Way

In the 2004 Olympics in Athens,
USA beat China in gold medals won, 36 to 32.
But China beat USA in the 2008 Beijing Olympics,
51 to 36 in gold medals.
Fifteen gold medal difference.

In my mind, USA must be thinking,
“there must be a winning formula employed by the Chinese”.

USA wanted to make sure they’ll beat China again.
And maybe to address "winning formula" concern,
for the 2012 London Olympics...
USA have their uniforms “Made In China”. :P

The Egyptians also cashing in on the "winning Chinese formula" but due to
Egypt's battered finances, opted for the counterfeit gear, which Egyptian officials said was "sufficient."
Egypt's Olympic Committee gave the athletes, bags that have large Nike logos on the front,
but the zippers have "Adidas" written on them.
Egypt's committee chairman says that's good enough - even though they're fakes.

As of August 1, the Egyptians have won 1 silver in London.

Peace On Earth

Jesus Christ came in peace…"Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased."

And He departed in peace…“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

But how come this world seemed to be heading to the opposite direction, full of hatred. It is because man made some wrong choices along the way.

God gives us wisdom to know right from wrong, to choose life over death. The important thing is to have the courage to do the right thing, to choose life.

We can still achieve peace. We just need to be guided by God’s Word, accept our mistakes and make amends.

Be vigilant and be not deceived.

Counter deception by being inquisitive.
Ask questions regarding your faith.
And you must entrust your faith to somebody who can answer
queries which is relevant to spiritual salvation according to God's Word
in the bible.

As of 31 March 2009, there have been 1,300 plus questions
regarding faith that have been answered and posted on YouTube by the most sensible preacher of our time.

it have been answered. You'll just have to look it up at ...

The USA captured double gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics with both the men's and women's teams compiling 8-0 records. The USA men have captured the gold in 13 of the 16 Olympics they have competed in and compiled an incredible 122-5 record.

August 2 vs Nigeria,
Olympic record-setting performance.
USA 156 Quarterscores: 49 / 29 / 41 / 37
Nigeria 73 Quarterscores: 25 / 20 / 17 / 11

The U.S. Men’s Senior National Team set Olympic records for most points in a half (78) and most points in a game (156) in their 156-73 win. They also set the record for
3-pointers made and attempted (10-for-12), field goals made (59), 3-pointers made and attempted (29-for-46),
and their 41 assists tied a record.

They shot a staggering 71 percent from the floor, 81 percent (30-for-37) inside the 3-point line a wicked 63 percent from distance.

Carmelo Anthony also set U.S. Olympic records for points (37), breaking Stephon Marbury‘s record of 31 (against Spain in 2004).

And maybe, just maybe, it was Anthony, one of the greatest scorers on the planet right now, catching fire in a glorious 14 minute and 29-second stretch the likes of we might not see again on the Olympic stage.

USA stays undefeated after a close win 99-94 over Lithuania. After an 83-point win, this will be a wake up call Team USA needed.

The team may be the favorite to win the gold, but they must give their best every game. This game exposed the team's lack of size and too much reliance on the outside shots than taking it strong inside. The team also must be consistent with the free throws, and defensive rotations.

LeBron James took over in the in the fourth quarter and Anthony have another all around game together with Chris Paul.

Kevin Durant finishes with 19 points, LeBron James tallies 18 and Kobe Bryant put up 13 quick points and then dipped out for the remainder of the night as he was no longer needed.

Oh, and some guy named Carmelo Anthony reminded everyone why he's one of the best players on the planet by scoring 9 points in under a minute. He finished with 18 total, while Kevin Love put up 9 points and 9 rebounds.

Argentina saw great production from their core, as Manu Ginobili finished with 18 points while Luis Scola and Carlos Delfino tallied 15 a piece. They simply didn't have the support throughout this game, thus leading to a lopsided defeat.

In the other Semis match, Spain defeated Russia. So it will be a rematch for the 2008 finalist, USA vs Spain for the 2012 Olympic gold.

Finals

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1294213-usa-vs-spain-olympic-basketball-live-score-stats-recap-for-gold-medal-game

It's coming down to a battle between Team USA and Spain for a gold medal at the London Olympics.

LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and the rest of the Americans have swept through the competition with a perfect record while Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka and the Spaniards have done just enough to advance to the final game.

Will Team USA's athleticism or Spain's superior size reign supreme on the world's biggest stage?

Prediction

The matchup we've all eagerly awaited is finally here, as—according to the FIBA World Rankings—the No. 1 ranked Team USA takes on the No. 2 ranked Spaniards.

With the exception of an anomaly against Lithuania, the Americans have swept through the competition in London with remarkable ease.

Using great guard play from the bevy of talented point guards, scoring punches from Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant, three-point shooting from everyone and incredible versatility from LeBron James, Team USA hasn't been content to just win games. They've put the pedal to the medal and blown out opponent after opponent.

Spain's talented frontcourt is sure to pose a few problems though. Between Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka, Spain has size galore and will look to capitalize on the USA's lack of length.

No matter how well those Gasol brothers play, Spain simply doesn't have the depth of talent that the Unite States possesses.

Expect a big showing from James and a close game during the first half before the Americans pull away for a 15-point victory and a top spot on the medal podium.

We're underway in London as Team USA controls the opening tip!

The Americans get off to a great start as Kobe Bryant dishes off to Tyson Chandler for an easy dunk to open the scoring.

2-0 USA with 9:30 remaining in the first quarter.

Juan-Carlos Navarro knocks down an and-one three-pointer and finishes the four-point play at the charity stripe.

That's a great start for Spain as well. They'll need a couple more breaks like that if they're going to hold off the Team USA onslaught, which Kevin Durant helps contribute to with a corner three-pointer.

Spain can't allow Durant to spot-up that easily.

5-4 USA with 8:56 remaining in the first quarter.

The Americans miss consecutive shots (slashing LeBron James and floating Kevin Durant) but each player grabs his own rebound and Durant hits a shot while drawing the foul. He misses the free throw though.

Spain has now gone to a Gasol on back-to-back possessions, allowing them to drop back into the post and back their way down into the paint. While Pau made a turn-around hook, Marc lost control of the ball.

7-6 USA with 7:50 remaining in the first quarter.

Juan-Carlos Navarro is feeling it in the early going, as he's left open and drills his second three-pointer of the first quarter.

Kevin Durant can't connect on the other end of the court, but Tyson Chandler draws a foul on the rebound attempt and the Americans retain possession of the ball.

9-7 Spain with 7:11 remaining in the first quarter.

After two offensive rebounds by the Spaniards, Juan-Carlos Navarro hits his third triple of the game.

Kobe Bryant goes into takeover mode on the other end, jab stepping his way to a contested three-pointer.

Now the drama starts to build.

Rudy Fernandez and Jose Calderon combine for a tough, physical foul against Kevin Durant, drawing an unsportsmanlike foul. Durant goes to the line for two free throws and the Americans will keep possession after the charity shots.

12-10 Spain with 5:56 remaining in the first quarter.

Juan-Carlos Navarro and Kobe Bryant are getting into a shooting battle, but Carmelo Anthony disrupts the scoring efforts of the two shooters with a three-pointer of his own!

Anyone surprised that Melo dropped a triple?

18-14 USA with 5:00 remaining in the first quarter.

Is Carmelo Anthony allowed to miss shots in international competition?

A beautiful pump-fake allows Melo to drive into the interior of the Spanish defense and then bank a shot in.

On the next possession, Melo swishes another three-pointer through the net to push his early scoring total to eight points.

Russell Westbrook is in the game, sprained right ankle and all. We'll see how effective he can be.

Team USA will need Westbrook's energy off the bench if Juan-Carlos Navarro keeps scoring at such a ridiculously high level.

Deron Williams knocks down a three-pointer, but he can't match JCN's 14 points in the first quarter.

28-20 USA with 2:02 remaining in the first quarter.

Spain ignored a Pau Gasol post-up when Deron Williams was attempting to guard him. The team can't fall in love with three-pointers this early on, but must continue to press their size advantage.

28-21 USA with 1:56 remaining in the first quarter.

Deron Williams has the early favorite for pass of the night, with a no-look, wrap-around pass to Kevin Love for the easy dunk.

Both teams have settled for three-pointers quite a bit during the first quarter. Team USA has six triples, while Spain already has three (all from Juan-Carlos Navarro).

Nice touch-pass from Carmelo Anthony to Kevin Durant, who knocks down a three-pointer to push his scoring total to 12 points.

Spain completes an incredible alley-oop pass from Sergio Llull to Rudy Fernandez. You're going to want to find a GIF of that one.

35-27 USA at the end of the first quarter.

Rudy Fernandez opens the second quarter by knocking down a three-pointer, thus becoming the first Spaniard not named Juan-Carlos Navarro to make a shot from downtown.

Russell Westbrook tries to draw contact on the other end, but gets caught in the air and throws the ball right to the other team.

35-30 USA with 9:17 remaining in the first quarter.

There's nothing like a Kobe Bryant possession to stop the ball from moving around between teammates.

After Kobe draws the foul, LeBron James hammers it home on a drive from the right.

37-34 USA with 8:07 remaining in the second quarter.

Pau Gasol hits a magnificent turnaround jumper over Tyson Chandler. That ball went as high as any shot you'll see all night, even a halfcourt heave.

37-36 USA with 7:35 remaining in the second quarter.

Double technicals called on Tyson Chandler and Marc Gasol after Sergio Rodriguez drills a three-pointer and punches Chandler in the stomach while coming around a screen.

After Kobe Bryant passes it off the rim (aka forces a shot and misses it), Kevin Love tips it home.

39-39 with 6:51 remaining in the second quarter.

When Sergio Llull hits a three-pointer, that's when you know that things are going well. As he knocks down the shot, a foul is called on the inside and Spain gets the ball back.

They quickly turn it over though and LeBron James draws the foul in this suddenly chippy game.

Also, as a correction from earlier, it was Sergio Rodriguez who threw the earlier alley-oop to Rudy Fernandez.

43-41 USA with 6:30 remaining in the second quarter.

Kevin Durant is really good at basketball.

The high-scoring small forward takes advantage of a late rotation by Marc Gasol and hits a floater on the baseline over the big man, draws the foul and completes the old-fashioned three-point play at the line.

Team USA is doing a much better job of driving to the rim and taking advantage of their speed and athleticism rather than settling for contested three-pointers.

46-44 USA with 5:30 remaining in the second quarter.

Marc Gasol was just called for his FOURTH foul of the first half as he attempts to bring down an offensive rebound.

Ouch.

Marc is going to sit out for a looooooong time now, even though the game is close. Terrible coaching by Spain to leave him in and not tell him to calm down.

48-44 USA with 5:10 remaining in the second quarter.

Great defense by Kevin Durant, who rotates over to stop penetration then recovers to pick up his initial man on the other side of the rim and forces a missed shot. Unfortunately for Team USA's leading scorer in the game, the offensive rebound goes right to Juan-Carlos Navarro, who drills another three.

50-49 USA with 4:17 remaining in the second quarter.

LeBron hits a floater. Somewhere, Mario Chalmers is thrilled.

52-49 USA with 3:35 remaining in the second quarter.

LeBron James is doing it all tonight. Surprise, surprise.

He grabs the offensive rebound after a Carmelo Anthony miss from three (now that IS a surprise) and puts it home.

LeBron now has eight points, six rebounds and two assists in the first half.

58-51 USA with 1:45 remaining in the second quarter.

The referees really love calling fouls in this game.

There have been a combined 32 calls in this game. Let the guys play!

59-54 USA with 43.6 seconds remaining in the second quarter.

Spain will hold for a shot with just a few seconds left on the clock. Pau Gasol misses a shot from the post but Andre Iguodala turns it back over on the other end.

Rudy Fernandez flops and gets an intentional foul called against Iggy, sending him to the free-throw line. Rudy knocks down both free-throws.

Seriously though, he fell the wrong way on his incredibly blatant flop. That's just wrong.

59-58 USA with 4 seconds remaining in the second quarter

One-point lead for Team USA going into halftime.

The United States has to continue driving and stop fouling, or at least getting close to fouling and watching as the officials blow the whistles.

 59-58 USA at halftime.

Spain draws iron on both of their first two shots in the second half, then LeBron goes to work on the other end.

It took almost six minutes for a Spanish player not named Pau Gasol to score.

The Americans are starting to run though, drawing fouls and hitting shots to take a bit of a lead.

Kobe Bryant heads to the free-throw line after a reverse layup attempt and extends the gap to five points after he makes both of his charity shots.

77-72 USA with 3:49 remaining in the third quarter.

A quick Spanish run cuts the American lead to just two points as both teams are getting sloppy. Now, instead of fouls, we're seeing turnover after turnover.

Serge Ibaka hits a jump-hook over Carmelo Anthony and this back-and-forth game is tied once more. At least until Kevin Durant hits another three-pointer.

83-80 USA with 1:25 remaining in the third quarter.

The newest member of the Denver Nuggets almost comes away with a sensational block on Serge Ibaka, but he gets called for a foul instead.

Andre Iguodala might have gotten called for a foul even without hitting Ibaka's arm, but it's hard to tell from the given angle.

Ibaka makes both free throws and it's a one-point game again.

83-82 USA with 23 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

Team USA holds the ball and uses the clock. Deron Williams has a magnificent dunk attempt, but Serge Ibaka makes sure that it's only an attempt as he prevents the ball from actually going through the rim.

Sergio Rodriguez misses a desperation attempt and Spain goes into the fourth quarter trailing by just a single point.

83-82 USA at the end of the third quarter.

Through three quarters, the United States has attempted 53 shots and 26 of them have been three-pointers.

That's simply unacceptable in a game where the referees aren't hesitating at all before calling fouls.

LeBron changes that a bit to start the final period and makes a layup after a great entry pass, but Sergio Llull responds quickly with a layup of his own.

85-84 USA with 9:17 remaining in the fourth quarter.

LeBron James should not be settling for contested three-pointers over Pau Gasol in an isolation setting.

He needs to be more aggressive and drive to the basket every time h touches the ball.

90-84 USA with 7:39 remaining in the fourth quarter.

He's done so in quiet fashion (due to the scrutiny over the performance by the refs), but Kevin Durant now has 30 points. Three-zero. 30.

He's only the fifth American player to score 30 points in a game and could challenge Carmelo Anthony for the single-game record.

How impressive would that be in a gold medal game?

93-86 USA with 6:09 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Kobe Bryant is fouled on a three-pointer by Rudy Fernandez, who picks up his fourth whistle of the game.

93-86 USA with 6:00 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Chris Paul is playing fantastic defense out on the perimeter, but Pau Gasol still manages to get the ball as he cuts to the basket and draws a foul.

Pau knocks down one of two freebies and the Americans have a chance to extend the lead to double-digits.

95-87 USA with 5:00 remaining in the fourth quarter.

It takes two possessions to do so, but extend to double-digits is exactly what the Americans do as Kobe hits a bank shot after an offensive rebound.

The Spaniards respond with a shot to bring it back to eight points and Carmelo Anthony is hobbling up and down the court. Rudy Fernandez has a wonderful tip-in after a miss by Juan Carlos Navarro in transition.

After an American turnover, Mike Krzyzewski calls a timeout and substitutes LeBron James back into the game.

It's crunch time now.

97-91 USA with 3:20 remaining in the fourth quarter

Pau Gasol tips the offensive rebound right into the hands of Kevin Durant, who passes it to Chris Paul.

CP3 draws the foul in transition and the Americans will have to play out of the half-court set. It works rather well as LeBron throws down a monstrous dunk on the drive from the right after two men follow Durant to the other end of the court.

99-91 USA with 2:30 remaining in the fourth quarter.

LeBron James. That's all.

A huge contested three-pointer gives the Americans a nine-point lead with under two minutes remaining and then Pau Gasol gets called for a moving screen and Team USA has the ball once more.

Once more: LeBron James.

102-93 USA with 1:51 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Spain is now playing against both Team USA and the clock, down three possessions (at least) with only 1:20 remaining.

Juan-Carlos Navarro misses a three-pointer and the Americans are now content to slow down the game quite a bit. Chris Paul hangs onto the ball the entire possession, takes it himself and makes a sensational spinning layup.

Game. Set. Medal.

104-93 USA with 42 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

Mike Krzyzewski jumps up for joy in what could become one of the defining images of Team USA's run through London.

It's great to see the legendary basketball coach with such passion as he hugs the players he's coached to a gold medal when they come off the court.

It's time for the substitutes to enter the game, as we have our first unibrow sighting of the gold medal game.

The celebrations have begun.

105-95 USA with 30 seconds remaining.

Marc Gasol knocks down a layup and the lead is down to just six points with 12 seconds remaining. James Harden better hit some free throws here, or Team USA could have to put the starters back in.

The Beard misses his first attempt, but drills the second one without drawing iron to push the game to three possessions.

Anthony Davis pulls down the rebound and the ball ends up in the hands of the Unibrow as the final buzzer sounds.

 Final Score: 107-100 USA

Team USA wins gold as so many expected, though not quite in dominant fashion as SPain gave them all they could handle.

It's great to see the pure joy of the NBA superstars as they dance around on the court.

LeBron James' incredible year continues as he now has a regular-season MVP, Finals MVP, NBA Title and Olympic gold medal.
