Watch Questions and Answers Videos - MCGI.org

http://www.mcgi.org/watch/qa/
MCGI Q & A is a video service featuring people's questions answered by Bro. Eli Soriano, the Presiding Minister to the Members Church of God International (MCGI). This video resource is a compendium of the Q & A segments gathered from the award-winning The Old Path (Ang Dating Daan in Tagalog) and Ask Bro. Soriano, The Bible Will Answer (Itanong Mo Kay Soriano, Biblia Ang Sasagot in Tagalog) television programs, to Bible Expositions, and to Truthcaster webcast at Livestream.com.

Since the early 1990s when the Bible Exposition was conceptualized and introduced by Bro. Daniel Razon in the Philippines, the Q & A segment helped draw followings in the Philippines first, then in Southeast Asia, Middle East, Europe, and North America.

In similar fashion, the Q & A format has been attracting audience from Uruguay, Bolivia, and Argentina among others through O Caminho Antigo (Portuguese) and El Camino Antiguo (Spanish) in Latin America. MCGI also has The Old Path in India.

Bro. Eli extended these evangelization efforts through the online medium with the launch of a web channel on Livestream.com. He conducts up to three regular live webcast schedules weekly where viewers can ask their questions live via phone or chat.

Dubbed by Mashable.com as the "Most Educational Blogger to Follow in 2009," Bro. Eli earned this recognition for his blog, esoriano.wordpress.com. In the Philippines, this blog was voted the
country's Most Popular Website in 2010 in the Philippine Web Awards. The preacher's 30-year-old The Old Path television program was also acclaimed in North America as "Most Informative Religious Program" in 2006 by Gawad America.

This video service currently features Q & A video collections in English. The Q & A video archives selected from Bro. Eli's Portuguese and Spanish broadcasts will be launched soon.

MCGI Presiding Minister Gives Biblical Outlook to Natural Disasters

Amidst Disasters and Political Strife: World-wide Congregation Celebrates

This is a perfect timing for a world-wide Congregation to give thanks after a wave of disasters and political strife struck different parts of the world.

As early as the second week of March, tens of thousands of worshippers marched to the ADD Convention Center in Pampanga, Philippines. Delegates throughout and outside the country arrived in throngs, while coordinating centers in five other continents have also readied their places to accommodate the attendees.

The Members Church of God International is celebrating its International Thanksgiving to God for the first quarter of this year from March 25 to 27, singing praises, offering thanksgiving, and studying of God’s word.

This first quarter thanksgiving is significant for the Congregation for many reasons. MCGI had vigorously widened its broadcast mileage in the past three months, specifically to include Bolivia, Argentina, Portugal, Uruguay, and India in its evangelization efforts. The latter two already have established coordinating centers in response to the growing number of brethren an interested people. More centers are expected to be set up soon.

The increase in membership in the West was hastened by the 24/7 broadcasts over Latin-American televisions and Bible Expositions held in various places. Inquiries about the doctrines of the Church multiplied in a few months. Bro. Eli Soriano, presiding minister to MCGI, said of this in his sermon as “quenching spiritual thirst in the West.”

Bro. Eli also thinks of these evangelization developments as the “realization of the Church’s responsibility to show and share the light and knowledge that God gave [us].” Even with persistent censures and criticisms, MCGI continues to broadcast the Gospel, and in doing so, Bro. Eli said, “We feel humbled that we have become instruments in making the truth we have learned known to every place we go.”

The continuous preaching added 4,107 new members for the first quarter. This number includes a majority of Filipinos, Papua New Guineans, Indians, Africans, and Latinos.

Another celebrated achievement of the Church is the institution of the synchronized worldwide prayer on March 6. Members pray together in MCGI chapters worldwide at an agreed time, 10 p.m. in the Philippines via satellite and Internet facilities.

Shall the Philippines now become the first to prohibit converting sinners to repentance?

Now the ADD (Ang Dating Daan), for the first time in history, is being prohibited to conduct Bible studies in some prisons in the Philippines! It was even prohibited to baptize some converts in Talisay City and La Carlota, Negros Island and in Guimaras, Panay Island! I am appealing to the President of the Philippines. We have been preaching continuously for the last 2 decades in Philippine prisons, converting sinners to repentance and in belief in God. We have been helping neglected prisoners of their humane necessities, spiritual and otherwise!

I cannot see any valid and logical reasons for the following persons to prohibit us from continuing the spiritual effort to bring light to lost souls in prison: (Rev. Fr. Nestor Caber, the Regional Chaplain BJMP6, J/Insp. Norberto Miciano Jr., who is warden of Talisay City Jail, Negros Occidental, and S/Insp. Mario Solis of La Carlota Jail, including Insp. Felix Sariana of Guimaras Jail).

Karaniwang Tao

Lost in Translation

09/14/2007

Amid calls for the scrapping of the $329-million supply contract for the National Broadband Network (NBN) project, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said Wednesday night “we must be a government that honors contracts and agreements that go through the required processes, despite media attacks.”

09/25/2007

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said Tuesday that allegations of bribery are unsubstantiated in a Chinese company's winning bid for a Philippine national broadband network, citing an internal investigation.

October 02, 2007

Gov’t tells high court ZTE offered the best deal. The government defended in the Supreme Court its decision to award to China’s ZTE Corp. the $329-million contract for the National Broadband Network (NBN) project, saying the firm had offered the best deal.

November 09, 2007

Gov’t asks SC to dismiss petitions vs NBN deal. Government lawyers have asked the Supreme Court to dismiss the petitions filed by several groups questioning the legality of the $330-million broadband infrastructure contract between the Philippines and a Chinese firm.

February 23, 2008

Arroyo admits knowing of corruption before signing ZTE deal. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo admitted Saturday she was aware of allegations of high-level corruption in the National Broadband Network project, but she did not stop the signing of the deal with ZTE Corp. last April 21 because she felt then that diplomatic relations between the Philippines and China were in peril.

The President, speaking mostly in Filipino, made this disclosure in an interview with radio commentator Joe Taruc over dzRH.

"Someone told me about it the night before the signing of the supply contract. That was one of many signings [in China]. But how can you cancel it the night before, considering that you are dealing with another country?” she said.

But she did not say who told her about the purported corruption.

According to Arroyo, she addressed the "anomalies” in the NBN-ZTE deal by canceling it.

"That was long canceled. Soon after I was informed about it, I already [planned] steps how to cancel it,” she said.

The President said that like other Filipinos, she was outraged by corruption: "The people are angry about corruption. So am I," she said in Filipino. That is why as soon as there was talk about corruption in this I project, I took steps to cancel it."

Arroyo canceled the project only in September 2007, about five months after her visit on April 21 to Hainan province in China.

Read on, I just got lost in translation.

I read the news

A news article:  Filipino journalist’s blog gets spammed. The blog of Filipino journalist Ellen Tordesillas has experienced a “spam attack.”

So this was article was reported Feb. 28, so it was of journalist' Ellen Tordesillas.

When I saw the title and before reading on the article, I thought it was MLQ3's daily dose because this "dose" can't be accessed today.

Infected by EO 464 virus?

Now More Than Ever

This interfaith rally, it may succeed or it may fail.

I wish i could go there but not yet. I haven't even figure it out how I can avoid being traffic- stuck at EDSA on my way home from the SOUTH.

I salute the many respectable people behind these but I avoided the gathering because of the personalities that have lost their credibility yet acting as if they are true leaders. How can somebody recently "pardoned" for his crime, ask the people to protest against corruption. If he could have just simply shut up and not include his personality into the occasion, that could have  been his greatest contribution. This and his kind bring on the passive behavior of Juan dela Cruz.

My stand is if this administration will continue to deny the people the truth, they have no reason to stay in their position.

Today's protest may succeed, well and good, and hopefully peaceful.

If it failed, it was just a momentary set back. The people will be better informed in the coming days.

And if you have known the truth, the evil flees.
