The Da Vinci Code

Rating:
Category:Movies
Genre: Action & Adventure
I got to borrow a DVD movie collection of Tom Hanks yesterday and though it is already late in the night, I viewed the latest among the selection, “The Da Vinci Code”.
As I remember, this movie was released in the first half of 2006, and yes, despite the controversy of the movie theme, I can’t recall any interest of watching the movie as it was released that year.
Not interested at all way back then to waste the money paying for tickets for a movie based on a best selling book (which does not equate to being credible) by a certain Dan Brown.
I finished the movie past 1 am and I can say that as expected on these Hollywood big budgeted movies, technically they are competent.
Story wise, the movie makes a lot of claims regarding history and art, which are hard to prove. This is very evident in the latter part of the movie and at this point you will be safe to keep in mind that all this narrative of the man in crutches are only of his own conclusion. I won’t make a list of his supposed facts but what I want to share here is the fact that this movie reminds us about the evil that the misguided individual or group of people can and will try to accomplish to protect their selfish interests.
Yan, on this positive note that we are reminded about after spending time to watch this movie that I hope to meaningfully end this post.
And i think that positive note was worth my hour of composing this post.
my rating: 0.6 star for the self serving art and historical "facts".
p.s. The last movie i paid for to watch in the theaters was “Monsters” (Disney produced yata ito). You do the 'matics how many years ago that was.

" --- very subtle, bro. I hope my husband will bit more tactful in expressing the same thought ;) But anyway, I know exactly what your point is, and yes, that is what's evident on the movie. Too bad though, some people would rather dig into malicious *facts* rather than facts seen right in their very eyes :(

Monsters, Inc.,yeah that was Disney-Pixar's, locally distributed by Columbia Pictures. Phew! that was November to December 2001, and did you get your money's worth with it? I hope so, I cried over Monster's Inc.

  3. yeah, plus pixar's short clip before the movie - (they usually have it)... with this i know its about the birds squeezing on the electrical post's wire.

just a trivia, Mike - the gree one-eyed monster can be seen swimming or i think snorkelling during the credits of the movie, "Nemo" ;)

  5. may nakatabi ako sa training before who offered me her copy of her Da Vinci Code book, she said that it changed her views about faith and religion. So I asked, in what way? She answered, "I think I no longer believe in the Bible." Sabi ko, "Just because of some guy's wild imagination, you now have major doubts about Bible and its authenticity? It's fiction diba? Naku, if you're too much of an impressionable person to read fiction, avoid fiction..." Ewan ko bakit ang sungit ko nung araw na yun, pero I just don't get people who are so into the Da Vinci Code.. For all we know, Dan Brown could just be a delusional conspiracy nut who got hold of a publisher..

  7. for some people, you'll just have to be surprised to the point of disbelief the amount of effort they gave to knowing what is the truth.

This could have been the second musical movie na napanood ko, the first one is Miss Saigon. Ay mali, di ko pala napanood ang Miss Saigon, napakinggan ko lang pala ng buo ang 2 casstte tape set na binili ng bunso kong kapatid. :)
